Denise Kimbrough

of Springfield, AR

May 12, 1957 - March 26, 2024

Denise Lynn (Green) Kimbrough, 66, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
She was born in Flint, Michigan on May 12, 1957 to Kenneth and Wanda (Falkenstine) Green. Denise grew up in south Florida riding horses, swimming, fishing in canals and creating other exciting adventures.

Her love of art blossomed after taking a pottery class at the University of the Incarnate Word. Over the years, she became a skilled artist in pottery, woodworking, weaving and cold glass. Wildly creative, she loved teaching at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. Denise was exceptional at cultivating confidence in her students, demonstrating new techniques, all while encouraging them to think imaginatively. She was generous with her art and loved giving it away.

Denise was mother to Shannon Swope (Phil) and Paige Boles (Travis) of Rogers. When the girls were young, she could be found helping at school, cooking for extra kids and leading some of the most fun Girl Scout troops. Ryan and Addison, her grandchildren, loved playing cards, cooking and exploring the Farm with her.

Denise will be especially missed by her loving husband, Jerry, to whom she was married for 49 years. They loved canoeing together at the Buffalo, fishing together and hosting friends. She will also be greatly missed by Calhoun, Inky, Luke and Target, her beloved fur babies.

Memorial Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00PM on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, AR.

Our deepest sympathy for family and friends. Denise sold us our house in 1996 in Conway. She reached out as a friend after, also learned to weave from me. She was always up and at'em and involved in sooo much. Rest in Peace.

My childhood would not have been complete had it not been for my cousin, Denise. Her Dad and my Dad were brothers and best friends. My sister, Laura, and I always waited for our special time with our cousin when she would visit us or when we all went to spend time in Florida to see her. My memories are filled with fun and laughter while we all went on adventures fishing in the canal, swimming in the pool, heading out to the beach, going on boats, making little tiny clothes for little frogs we would find, going to church with her, hearing Jackie Gleason stories (Uncle Ken worked for him) and, of course, talking about boys. Specifically I remember the day I heard about her heartthrob named Jerry. Before long she was married to her soulmate for 49 amazing years! My heart goes out with prayers for Jerry, Shannon, Paige, Ryan, Addison, and her beloved fur babies. I know for certain she has reunited with The Lord and her heavenly family in the best place ever. I love you, Denise, fly high amongst the angels as you so rightly deserve!!!

Denise sold us the house directly across the street from her and Jerry. She said “this is a great subdivision “. And boy was she right!! Our first girls time was when she and Mary knocked on my front door and said “can you come out and play” That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. I have so many Denise memories but I will close with a toast. Here’s to Good Shoes”. God speed..Hugs to Jerry and the girls. Love you guys.

I was in a pottery class for a couple of years with Denise. Our pottery group started having trips to one another’s cabins. Remember Denise being the life of the party. She sored into a higher level of art and became a teacher!

I met this artistic and interesting lady years ago when they lived in Conway. We last hugged and laughed a few weeks ago at Megan's wedding reception. I would never have thought that would be the last time. You will be missed, rest in love. Hugs and prayers to the family.

Denise and Jerry were the first to welcome us to our new home. She hand made a plate and presented it to us as a house warming gift. I will always treasure our brief but rich friendship. We will miss you.

Generous with her art is the perfect statement. Denise had a way with her art and had a unique vision for each piece. She was giving, joyful, and could always make you laugh. Our family has years of great memories to look back on. Fly high as I know your creativity will show each time Paige, Shannon, Jerry or the grands look up at the sky.

Jerry and girls,
I remember the day I met Denise.
December 2002 when she came to my house to see if I could take care of her mother in law, Ms. Helen.
She was always so bubbly. And her and Jerry with their birthday and Christmas calls long after Helen passed away. I’ll be praying for you all in the coming days. Fly High Denise

31 years ago I met Denise and her beautiful family, her daughters are also my girls. A beautiful friendship evolved, we laughed, we cried, we agreed and we disagreed but always remained friends. She claimed me as her sister, and my daughter as hers. I am grateful she was in my life, I just wish it was a lot longer, Prayers for her family, her one and only love Jerry, daughter Shannon, Phil, Addie, Ryan, and daughter Paige and Travis. RIP my sister by choice not blood as she would always tell me.

Where to even start. Denise was on our front porch the first weekend we moved into our neighborhood to welcome us. We fought Wal-Mart, raised our kids , built the best friendships. Oh and all the float trips. What a village Denise and Jerry helped create. “To Good Shoes” my friend. “To Good Shoes”.
