Katherine Snyder, 87, of Lexa, Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Helena Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Snyder was born March 5, 1928 at West Helena, Arkansas to the late Junius and Myrtle Galloway Bivens. She was retired from the United States Postal Service, where she served as a rural mail carrier.
Mrs. Snyder is survived by one son, James Kenneth Snyder of Lexa, AR, one daughter, Kathy L. Snyder of Lexa, AR, one granddaughter Amber Harrell (Seth) of Conway, AR, three great grandchildren Lauren Scroggins, Jackson Harrell, and Sophia Harrell, all of Conway, AR, two sisters Jo Ann Charlton and Frances Bivens both of Lexa , AR and a host of other nieces and nephews. She also leaves a host of other beloved family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years, Kenneth Snyder; a brother, James Bivens; and three sisters, Peggy Snyder, Doris Johnston, and Thelma Anderson; one son, Larry Snyder; one grandson, Justin Snyder.
Funeral services for Katherine Snyder will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 at Lexa Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena. Reverend Tommy Jacobs and Reverend David Crouch will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Roller-Citizens.
Pallbearers are Seth Harrell, Gary Snyder, Sherman Snyder, Randy Davis, Donnie Ginn, Charles Lovell, and Jackson Harrell.

Kathy, Your sweet Mom and Dad were so good to my Papaw when he moved to Lexa. God sure blessed him with their kindness. I love you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear he passing away. I was SO THANKFUL for Katherine and her family!!! She and her family prepared Sunday Dinners for my Mother, Maudie White Hopkins each Sunday and brought it over to her house across the street every week for years. When we visited my Mother, in Lexa we would go over and visit some of the most wonderful people, Katherine, Kenneth and Kathy. Thank God, for them!!!

Kathy, I just read my e-mail and learned of Katherine's death. The Bivens side of the family is growing smaller and smaller and I regret that we have not kept closer ties. I am so sorry for your loss and hope you will keep in touch with me as the
oldest Bivens kin I won't be able to come for the service but will send a memorial to the church she loved so dearly. Prayers for peace and comfort.
