William F. (Bill) Hamrick age 72 of West Memphis, Arkansas passed from this life on Thursday, April 21, 2017.
Bill was born June 29, 1944 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas to the late Forrest and Ruth DeMent Hamrick. He graduated in 1962 from Cherry Valley High School.
After high school he worked at Addison Shoe Factory in Wynne, Arkansas for a short time. Then he served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
In 1971 he married Joanne Cochrell and moved to West Memphis, Arkansas. His first job in Memphis was at Union Planters Bank. While at the bank Bill went to State Tech and earned an Associate degree in computer technology after receiving his degree he finished out his twenty years at Union Planters in the IT department. His next job was a Systems Analyst at ALSAC St. Jude in Memphis, Tennessee. He retired from St. Jude in December of 2013.
Bill attended Cross Community Church in Marion, where he helped with many activities. He was always willing to help clean up after functions .Bill loved to ride his motorcycle all over eastern Arkansas and West Tennessee. His riding buddies were Larry Culver, Doyce Mouser and Brad Barker. He enjoyed taking grandchildren and great grandchildren to the cabin at the lake. He drove the pontoon as the kids rode wake boards and the tube. Even though it was difficult he always managed to drive the boat and launch the jet-ski so everyone could have a great time on the water.
He was a loving husband and grandfather, Papaw Bill will be loved and missed every day.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Hamrick of Cherry Valley, Arkansas.
Mr. Hamrick is survived by his wife, Joanne Cochrell Hamrick, Step-daughters, Theresa Gahr Ruthven (Richard) of Paragould, AR; Sharon Gahr Moore of Little Rock, AR; and Davya Gahr Feemster of Memphis, TN: Brothers, Thomas (Tom) Hamrick of Cherry Valley, AR; James (Jim) Hamrick of Springfield, VA; Phillip Hamrick (Debbie) of Newark, OH; sisters, Georgia (Linda) Hart of Paramount, CA; Patricia (Pat) Englehart of Ocean Springs, MS; Norma Hamrick of Alexandria, VA; and Jane England (Gary) of Trumann, AR; five grandsons, Richard Lee and William Ruthven, Jeff Wood, Nick and Tanner Moore, A granddaughter, Heather Feemster. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, loved ones and close friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home with burial at 3:00 PM at Vanndale Cemetery in Vanndale, Arkansas.

We are so sorry to hear about Bill! We were always glad to see you and Bill and visit, from the first time we met you at Tammy Tackett's house! I know he was a great family man and he will be dearly missed! Mackie and I are going to be out of town Wednesday, wish we could be there.
