Doris ''Peggy'' House, 78, of Batesville, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at White River Medical Center.
She was born on June 27, 1936 in Jamestown, Arkansas and was the daughter of James A. Elms and Mildred (Burks) Elms.
Going to ballgames and watching sports on television was some of her favorite things to do. She not only played softball, she coached as well. She enjoyed reading and called her children every day without fail. She retired from data processing at White River Medical Center after 35 years of service and was a member of the Allen Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Scott House and his wife, Patsy of Jonesboro; her daughter, Holly Seymore and her husband, Jerry of Batesville; three grandchildren, Taylor Phillips, Chet Seymore, and Whitney McGinty; and three great-grandchildren, Aidan McGinty, Jade McGinty, and Lunden McGinty. She is also survived by one brother, Mac Elms and his wife, Carolyn of Pine Bluff; one sister, Flora Carey and her husband, Bob of Batesville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester House; and two brothers, Jimmy Elms and Granville Elms.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Phillips, Chet Seymore, Austin Carey, Andrew Carey, Jeff Stubbs, and David Cartwright.
Honorary pallbearers are Kim Phillips, Ellis Rogers, Dr. Greg Neaville, Dr. J. D. Allen, Dr. Ronald Lowery, Dr. Seth Barnes, Gary Britten, and Charlie Wade.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Allen Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Landers and Bro. James Forlines officiating. Burial will follow at Egner Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Always enjoyed her sweet disposition at church. We will all miss her but her heavenly celebration has already begun.

Please accept our sincere sympathy. One of the things I will miss is her smile and laugh. She was a wonderful person. We will miss her being a part of our church family but we know she is with those she loved in heaven.

She was a very nice lady when I worked with her years ago at Wrmc she was on the business dept and I was in nursing. She would always smile if she met you in the hall prayers are with her family at their time of loss!
Peggy was a beloved cousin who loved all the family. She and Flora would come to Fayetteville every year to visit and go to a razorback basketball game. She will be greatly missed!
