Benjamin Ellington Harvey

of Little Rock, AR

June 7, 1985 - August 30, 2015

Benjamin Ellington Harvey was born on June 7, 1985, in Hot Springs, AR. He is survived by his parents Katherine Tweedle Harvey and John Stansel Harvey, his aunts Edwina Harvey and Molly Bogen, his ''brother,'' Scott Townsend, and his special pets Moses and Allison Harvey.

Today, Benjamin is reunited with his pets, Bunzington and Fozzie Harvey. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Earl and Jane Tweedle, Edwin (Buddy) and Mary Harvey. Benjamin will always be the center of his mother's universe and the love of her life, and he leaves behind a host of kind and loving friends who are missing him. Benjamin is a graduate of Benton High School and the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where he earned a B.F.A. in art and graphic design, and where he was a member of the varsity paintball team.

In addition to his work as a freelance graphic design artist, Benjamin was an accomplished and passionate musician and visual artist. These mediums afforded Benjamin outlets for expressing his uniquely sensitive perception of life and living.

A service of celebration and remembrance will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 1, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Pkwy., Little Rock (501) 224-8300. Memorials may be made to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association at www.jdrf.org under memorials.

The more time I spend trying to put Ben into words, the more clear it becomes that I face an impossible task. It was foolish to think that I could.. I actually find that the English language falls short in his regard. Even the most eloquent words flounder in hopes of capturing the light that was Ben Harvey.. If you were lucky enough to have been loved by him then you, too, know that you have encountered beauty that is not of this world.. Ben loved big.. and he loved greatly.. and he loved beautifully. I am infinitely greatful for every moment, every smile.. and all the love that was him.. our Ben.

Ben was a neat person, with a big heart. I am so glad I got to know him. Katherine, your love for him was inspiring. I got to know you both through the family groups on Sundays. I know Ben's presence will still be felt by you. You have gained a faithful, beautiful angel. I think he is wearing Converses and playing the guitar! Love and light.

May God comfort you as you walk through this valley of the shadow of death.
We did not know Benjamin, but we’ve had difficult times like you’re going through right now. My wife and I lost adult sons in the past and we cherish their memories.
You may not think so in the next few weeks, but as time passes you’ll be able to think more on the good times that you had together and less about losing your son.
It is always good to hear people remember and name the one you’ve lost. Benjamin will not be forgotten by friends and I hope they’ll talk with you about their good times with him

The loss is devastating and words escape me. I loved Ben and thought so much of him. He was a very active part of Paintball Arkansas where I had the joy of knowing him for many years. Katherine, my heart hurts for you and please know I will keep you in my prayers for God to comfort your heart and mind with His peace. You will be greatly missed "bendover"...
