John Douglas Sowell, 53, of Arkadelphia passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. John was born May 14, 1962 to the late George and Vernie Brown Sowell. He was the grandson of the late James Arthur and Elzie Gentry Brown and the late William Allen and Alice Bryant Sowell. He was also preceded in death by his step mom Floy Sowell.
He is survived by his wife Sheral Sowell of Arkadelphia; three daughters, Tracy Taylor of Arkadelphia, Shannon (Jonathan) Nees of Bryant and Jessica (Doug) Trantham of Bryant; one brother James (Shelia) Sowell of Mayflower; three sisters Virginia (Billy) McCaghren of Mayflower, Dianne (Gary) Metheny and Brenda (James) Webb of Conway; half-sister Georgie (James) Huggins of Lonoke; grandchildren Katelyn and Jon Jon Nees, Mayson Trantham, Halei and Kalei Taylor.
Funeral service will be at 1:00pm Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with Brother Terry Turner and Sister Jarla Collier officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Mayflower Cemetery.
HI im Roy, i knew john from a long time ago when my mother was alive, he used too come over too our house too vivst us, and i knew him when he came into the Beehive store where i work at in Arkadelphia ark,he used too come in the store and buy movies, and he was a good ol guy , i know cherl and the family ,sorry too here about john, god bless him amen,
